Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

LeaseGuard (leaseguard.us) is an AI-powered lease analysis service that reviews residential lease agreements and flags risks under state-specific landlord-tenant law. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. Questions? Email us at support@leaseguard.us.

2. What we collect

• Your lease document. When you upload a PDF or Word file, we store it temporarily on our servers solely to run the analysis pipeline. The file is deleted automatically once processing is complete — typically within a few minutes. We do not retain the original document.
• Extracted report data. The analysis results (risk findings, extracted clauses, fee breakdowns, negotiation letter) are stored in our database so you can retrieve your report at any time using the secure link we provide.
• Your email address. If you purchase a full report, Stripe passes us the email you entered at checkout. We use it solely to send you your report access link and related service communications. We do not use it for marketing without your consent.
• Payment information. All payment processing is handled directly by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or bank details. We receive only a transaction confirmation and your email.
• Usage and server logs. Standard web server logs including IP address, browser type, and request timestamps. Used for security monitoring and debugging. Retained for up to 90 days.

3. How we use your information

• To analyze your lease and generate your risk report.
• To deliver your secure report access link by email after payment.
• To allow you to retrieve your report using the link we provided.
• To detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• To improve the accuracy of our analysis engine.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

4. Third-party services

We use the following sub-processors to operate the service:

• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe Privacy Policy
• Resend — transactional email delivery. Resend Privacy Policy
• Anthropic (Claude API) — AI analysis of lease clauses. Lease content is sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models. Anthropic Privacy Policy
• Railway / infrastructure — cloud hosting and database. Data is stored in the United States.

5. Data retention

• Original lease file: deleted immediately after analysis completes.
• Report data: retained indefinitely so you can access your paid report at any time via your secure link.
• Email address: retained as part of your payment record.
• Server logs: deleted after 90 days.

To request deletion of your report data and email, contact us at support@leaseguard.us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Security

Report access is protected by a unique, cryptographically random token included in your report link. We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Database access is restricted to our application servers. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe you have found a security issue, please contact us at support@leaseguard.us.

7. Cookies

LeaseGuard does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use browser localStorage to store your report access token on the device you used to upload your lease, so the report page loads without requiring you to paste the link. No third-party tracking scripts are loaded.

8. Children

LeaseGuard is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be noted by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
